OMAN SUSTAINABLE FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT FAIR

The Oman Sustainable Food Safety and Quality Management Fair is a solution-based conference and exhibition that will discuss the future of food safety and challenges in the food industry supply chain brought about by the pandemic, and present the direction and initiatives of Oman in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 alongside its Vision 2040.

The two-day conference will also focus on food safety regulations, the streamlining of the food supply chain amid new and evolving market environments, the application of new and available technology, and the implementation of sustainable and safe practices and methods in the entire agriculture and food industry in Oman.

FOOD SAFETY AND SUSTAINABILITY IN FOOD SUPPLY CHAINS

Rapid urbanization has resulted in the globalization of the food trade and has transformed our food systems. Especially in the agribusiness and food industry that employ food quality and safety management systems, there is ongoing pressure to deal with such factors as global trade, competitive markets, increasing safety and quality requirements, demographic changes, climate change, and more. This necessitates the need to prioritize food safety and sustainable food systems and find sustainable means to grow, produce and consume safe and healthy foods while preserving the environment.

This entails developing and streamlining food safety and food quality infrastructure, e.g., improving and upgrading food safety management systems and quality management systems that are based on assurance guidelines and standards (like HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, etc.) and restructuring food providing systems and the food supply chain by applying new tools and technologies to increase efficiencies, provide resiliency, transparency and integration.
